Book Recommendation 1

Those who know me can attest I LOVE to read. If you come to my house, I have two large bookshelves, a smaller one, and other books near my bed. I love knowledge. I could read and block everything out. Here are some of my favorites I'd like to recommend:

A Woman After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George

It is my heart’s desire to learn more about God and be a woman who is whole-heartedly committed to following Him. I love reading books that allow me to dig deeper. As a woman, there are many areas of our lives we balance on a regular. It may be challenging to determine how to manage it all while doing it for God’s glory. A Woman After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George is a must read for women needing to grow spiritually as well as glorify God is every area of their life. I cannot recommend this book enough!! I was clanged to my core about everything. I was reminded just how powerful I am as a woman and I certainly don’t want to neglect the most important areas of my life. The highlight of the book was the challenge for every woman to ensure her heart is wholly devoted to God. I even purchased the A Woman After God's Own Heart Growth and Study Guide for additional study.

If you decide to read the book, I’d love to know your thoughts!

Goal Setting

For the past three years, I've used Powersheets as a tool to set goals! I love this tool because it isn’t your typical goal setting. Lara Casey helps you to go deeper: know who you are, what your values are, and truly cultivate what matters most for your life. I plan to share some of my Powersheets here on the blog! The 2017 workbooks are currently sold out, but in the meantime, check out Lara’s Annual Goal Setting Series! Be prepared to dig deep and set some intentional goals for your life!

Your Guide to Cultivating

Do you ever read a quote from a book or see an image on social media and breathe a sigh of relief? As if someone has put to words and voiced your thoughts, hopes, fears, desires, and more? That's exactly what sitting down with author, business owner, and mom to three Lara's second book Cultivate: A Grace-Filled Guide to Growing an Intentional Life was like for me. It's an invitation to be a part of something more meaningful and intentional than chasing the seemingly perfect life. It's an invitation to believe that a flourishing life is possible, right where you are.

Written as part encouragement anthem and part practical guide, Cultivate offers wisdom from God’s Word alongside lessons Lara has learned in her garden. Woven throughout is her personal story that helps release readers from the pressure to achieve and gives them freedom to move from planning to planting a meaningful legacy. “It’s in the imperfect—the mess of the dirt—that good things grow,” Casey reminds readers. “Peonies grow through the dirt, and so do we.”

Cultivate launched June 27th.

Not sure if Cultivate is right for your season of life? (Spoiler alert: it is!) Read Lara’s blog post to dive into 10 common lies and truths to combat them and find the first three chapters of Cultivate to download for free!
